What happened @MobileArtCon 2010

Hi everyone, as promised here are some impressions from MobileArtCon 2010 at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. "Held over two days, the conference featured multiple events, including a review of iPhone drawing and painting apps, a forum on printing mobile art, a lecture on the evolution of digital art, and a talk on the mobile photography movement (that would be us). It concluded with an evening exhibition entitled Illuminated Touch (once again) at Openhouse Gallery". (Macworld article) It was a great experience meeting so many creative personalities at such an inspiring venue. A big thanks to iAMDA (The International Association of Mobile Digital Artists) for organizing this event. We are sure it won't be the last conference and we are more than happy to get involved in future ventures, especially when it comes to promoting the field of mobile photography in the digital arts world.

POINT AND SHOOT LEGENDS. #5

EYE’EM uncovering the legends of point & shoot. Finally another Legend: Decades have past since the pioneers of street photography have taken their first shots. Magicians such as Henry Cartier-Bresson, Helen Levitt, Walker Evans, Paul Strand, Lee Friedlander and many more, have elated innumerable amounts of people and their work still serves as inspiration for modern photographers. These point & shoot masters are legendary to EYE’EM, because they were able to capture the daily street choreography with their cameras at hand, only using their vision and sense of composition. This time an artist who did not only create powerful images, but who illustrated the horrific scenes of combat situations. EYE’EM featuring the fifth artist of our series ‘point & shoot legends’: Edward (Eddie) Adams

La Panera art center

Hi there! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday. It's getting pretty cold in here in Berlin in these days, but the sun is still in town. We quickly wanted to introduce you to our friends from La Panera art center in Lleida, Spain, not far from Barcelona. They are currently running a cool mobile photography exhibition showcasing some good people that you might be familiar with. They have invited six photographers to post daily images to a group pool, and dedicated a section of the art center to this project. It's definitely worth checking out. The show is running until November 14th! Give it a go and have a great start into the week!
