Ladies and Gentlemen,
today would like to introduce you to one of the hands down most awesome album we’ve come across in lately. Did we say album? This might as well become a global movement that could change the world.
To cut it short: New York resident Lucas Mendes became bored of the classic tourist picture and turned the concept around. Instead of posing face forward for a photo, he poses backwards with his arms raised high up in the air. Sounds crazy? Well, it’s all about making your ideas happen.
Lucas already captured his trademark move in front of major spots like the Transamerica Pyramid, the UN Headquarters and Golden Gate Bridge and is currently taking the o/ to the West Coast.
We’ve asked Lucas how it all started:
I got the idea last year partying with friends in Brazil. They were taking too many pictures like the normal ones where everyone poses together smiling. I was at the back row for the pics and at some point I got bored and started turning around and raising my arms for every single pic.
At some point they realized what I was doing and we started messing around with it, taking different pics using the o/. After that it became my thing and I started to take those pics you saw everywhere I go. Also, I came back to NYC and often times when my friends get together in Brazil they would take a group o/ pic and send it over to me.
What can we say? We just love o/. Keep up the great work, Lucas!
