last Sunday the first EyeEm Singapore Meetup took place! Under the lead of Forrest Grump and pixbykm 24 EyeEm aficionados met at Crazyworld Café to go on a photowalk, take photos together, join in for a talk by renowned mobile photographer Aik Beng Chia, hang out and have a good time.
The photos alone tell us that this meetup must have been a blast. Check out the album Singapore EyeEm Meetup to see all photos of the event and scroll down for a recap from Forrest Grump and some more impressions.
Here’s a recap from Forrest Grump:
Q: What do old men playing chess, Buddhist temples, hot and humid weather, and the best fish and chips in town have in common?
A: The First Annual Singapore EyeEm Meetup.
About 24 (including myself and Pixbykm) showed up for the event at Crazy World Cafe (Great Hosts) and according to my son, the best fish and chips he has ever eaten. We ventured out in groups around the Chinatown area and look pictures of old men playing Chinese chess, Buddhist temples with incredible sights, smells, and a cool prayer wheel on the top of the building. Hot and humid as always as we returned back to our cafe for a slideshow of our photos closing the event with a short presentation by fellow mobile phone artist ABC.
Met new people and as it’s always the case, the photos and apps were the glue that provided the common bond between us.
Special thanks to Edwin from Crazyworld Café who was a great host!
Yay! We’re looking forward to the next meetup going down there. Rock on, Singapore!
